Top Practice Spaces in Leeds

If you are looking for a rehearsal studio in Leeds, you have quite a few places to choose from. As a guitar teacher in Leeds, I have students who ask me where they can practise in their spare time. Some of them play in their own bands, while others are solo artists. Whichever type of musician you are, you will find the best Leeds rehearsal studios somewhere near you. Here are the places where I recommend (I have been to all of them):

Eiger Studios

Located in the South of Leeds, Eiger studios offer rehearsal rooms and recording studios. Live video sessions can look great! There is a stage in the venue area with a bar for a mid-rehearsal snack. It holds up to 350 people! You could also hire out equipment like a full PA set for a gig.

Blueberry Hill Studios - now closed!

Blueberry Hill Studios is located in the West of Leeds in the Kirkstall Industrial Park. Easy access and free parking, plus nicely decorated rehearsal rooms which are specifically themed (take a look on the website). A fully-functional bar in the lounge area downstairs fits well with the venue area upstairs. There are daytime deals which benefit the off-peak rehearsal time. You will have to hire out guitar/bass amps, so best to bring your own! If you need to buy an amp, read about the best beginner amps I recommend from experience.

Pirate Studios

Located opposite to Blueberry Hill Studios in the Kirkstall Industrial Park, it is more than a practice space that offers a range of rooms including rehearsal studios, recording studios, DJ and podcast studios. You can even do a production course there! To quote them: “24/7, Free Drums, Amps, PAs & Mics, Free Parking”... What more can you ask for?

Leeds College of Music - now Leeds Conservatoire

You can actually book piano rooms (upright or grand) at Leeds College of Music at an hourly rate. These rooms can be used by any musician wanting to practise unamplified, but if you happen to be a pianist, you’ll be glad to hear that most of the pianos come from the Steinway & Sons company! Current students are allowed to bring in guests to rehearse in band rooms and to record in studios. Paid parking available at the Quarry Hill car park.
